Even though life doesn’t always go the way I planned, I’m learning to trust the One who sees the bigger picture. Even though I may face delays, disappointments, unanswered prayers, closed doors, and seasons where I don’t understand what God is doing, I can still choose to believe that His plan is greater than mine.

Sometimes we hold tightly to our own plans because we think we know what is best for us. We want the timing to make sense. We want the answers now. We want to understand why certain things happened and why certain prayers weren’t answered the way we expected. But Proverbs 19:21 reminds us that, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. We grieve the cost of that sacrifice, and we thank God for their courage.
