A REMINDER

Sometimes we need this reminder because life can make us feel forgotten. We may wander, make mistakes, become discouraged, or feel unworthy. But Luke 15 reminds us that our failures do not cancel God's love.

The shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to search for the one sheep that has wandered away. The woman searches carefully for the lost coin. And the father waits for his son to come home.

Notice the heart of the Father. He does not say, “You should have known better.” He does not say, “You made your bed, now lie in it.” When the son returns, the father runs to meet him, embraces him, and celebrates his return.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. We grieve the cost of that sacrifice, and we thank God for their courage.
